Khan Yunis, Gaza Strip, Palestinian territories. April 19, 2022. A site west of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip is hit by Israeli airstrikes overnight on Tuesday. While Israel has stated that its planes targeted a Hamas weapons manufacturing unit, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency the attack has caused severe damage to civilian properties. The airstrikes were apparently in response to a rocket fired on Monday evening from Gaza toward southern Israel, which came after repeated attacks on the Al-Aqsa mosque compound and inside the mosque by Israeli forces during Ramadan
