St Seiriol's Church, Penmon Priory, Isle of Anglesey, looking south across the Menai Strait to the Carneddau mountain range in Snowdonia. Medieval church (nave on R built 1140, tower and transepts 1160-70) on a site reputedly founded by St Seiriol in the 6th century. Chancel added 1220-40 by Llywelyn ap Iorwerth for the newly reorganised priory of Augustinian canons. Chancel rebuilt on old foundations 1855.
