Length of one of the larger speciaieiis, millimeters; breadth, near the apex, 2 ; at base, 1 man. Surface with fine cellular reticulation, which, when seen as a transparent object, appears as a network of thick-walled cells, rather finer than that in the previous species, but of the same general char- , acter. Toward the base, it becomes more lax, as if verging into an ordinary epidermal tissue.
