Liverpool, UK. May 25, 2013. A Merchant Navy Commemorative Service to celebrate the ending of the Battle of the Atlantic has been held at the Pier Head. The parade was lead by Chinese Lion dancers, China Pearl dancers. Serving and retired Merchant Seamen attended the memorial which was watched by hundreds of people. The memorial coincides with a weekend of activities in Liverpool to commorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Battle of the Atlantic. Christopher Middleton/Alamy
