Mexico City salt marsh. At left are the remnants of the lake that used to cover the whole of the valley surrounding Mexico City, Mexico. Now surrounded by the city, it is a salt marsh with a bird wildlife centre and a huge rubbish tip. Running into the distance at centre is the drainage river, now used for sewage. Photographed in December 2012.
