Punch a hole diagonally in side of cartridge with pointed handle of cap crimper, and insert cap with fuse attached. To keep cap from slipping out, tie a string around fuse and then around cartridge. Then place cartridge in hole on top of charge. Do not slit it. Cap should point toward bottom of bore hole. The subsequent steps in stump blasting will be described in future issues of this paper.
