REPORT OF THE SECRETARY OF THE TREASURY 11 Receipts from income and excess profits taxes In 1946, receipts from income and excess profits taxes amounted to$30, million, a decrease of $4, million or percent from1945. Corporation taxes accounted for $3, million or of the total decrease and taxes on individuals accounted for$ million or percent. As a proportion of total receipts,income and excess profits taxes accounted for percent in 1946compared with percent in 1941. As between the two sources, the individual income tax has for thepast 3 years provided the, larger amount of revenue receipts and forthe 6-year period as a whole it brought in more receipts than any othersingle tax source.
