Medieval armour as used at the reenactment of the Battle of Tewkesbury 1471 in the Wars of the Roses


Each year in July Tewkesbury in Gloucester, England holds a medieval fayre and reenactment of the Battle of Tewkesbury (originally May 4th 1471) - said to be the largest medieval event in Europe. This was the final battle in the Wars of the Roses when Edward IV (House of York and White Rose) defeated the Lancastrians (Red Rose). The Battle reenactment uses part of the original battle field and involves around 2000 knights, archers and men at arms.
