Entering Columbia with theClass of 1864 he took the regular university andlaw courses, graduating from the latter departmentwith the degree of Bachelor of Laws in 1866 andreceiving that of Master of Arts the ensuing legal practice has been confined to New YorkCity and vicinity, where he has successfully handledmany important cases.
