Guian. iii. p. 694) this bird has similar habits to those o£ Lathria cineraceus, but not the same shrill note. See p. 278. Genus ATTILA Less. , Attila Lesson, Traite d'Orn. p. 360, 1830. Type A. hrasiliensis Fig. 113.—To show bill and rictal bristles. The birds that comprise this genus are o£ medium size. The bill is compressed and sharply hooked at the tip of the upper mandible, the width at the base is about two-thirds the length of the exposed culmen. The rictal bristles, though short, are strongly developed. The wing is rounded, the third and fourth primaries are longest and equal, the second is rather shorter than the fifth but much longer than the sixth, and the first is about equal in length to the secondary-quills. The tail is square at the tip, the feathers rather wide and about five-sevenths the length of the wing. The tarsus is about one-third longer than the exposed culmen.
