Design for a Chimneypiece, Graphite, pen and ink, brush and watercolor on paper, The fireplace is framed by moldings which stand upon the same bases as the lateral pilaster strips. The panels of the latter and those of the frieze are of marble. The first ones are decorated with twigs hanging from bowknots. In front of the frieze and of the lower part of the entablature is an oblong with an ovoidal representation of Psyche and Cupid. Ramheads are the upper corners supporting festoons the outer ends of which drag over eagles standing at the corners.
