Studio shot of the .44 magnum Black Talon line of ammunition that in the 1990's was labeled as the"cop killer"

The Black Talon line of ammunition in the 1990's was labeled as the"cop killer" bullet under the mistaken impression that it's design allowed it to defeat the vests that Police (and others) used for protection. In reality, a combination of marketing hype and misinformation contributed to this ammo being removed from the market and immediately replaced with similar ammo which lacked the public scrutiny.
