The program has grown from a handful of POLADs since its inception in 1960, to 90 positions today, with postings in component commands, major headquarters, and in military units assigned to conflict areas. POLADS serve on behalf of the Department of State (DoS) to provide interagency cooperation with the Department of Defense. USSPACECOM alongside our key allies and international partner seek to deter aggression and irresponsible behavior to ensure a safe, secure, stable and sustainable space environment.
