Banff is within the majestic and unbelievable beautiful Canadian Rockies. Canadian Rockies extends over 1500 kms and merges with ranges in the Yukon and Alaska , creating the huge watershed of the Continental Divides that separates rivers flowing to the Artic , Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Banff is the unquestioned capital of the Canadian Rockies. It has the reputation for being the biggest and busiest urban platform of any National Park globally. One of Banff ' s attractions, is the cable car ride called the Sulphur Mountain Gondola. It offers panoramic vistas of the surrounding area. It travels 700km skywards , at a 51 degree angle and takes 8 minutes to the summit. From the summit, you can see the Bow River and Tunnel Mountain, as well as Banff itself.
