A valuable native tree, both useful and ornamental ; timber is very durable, and possesses a fine grain for oil finish. Nuts sweet, of delicate flavor, and are a valuable article of com- merce. A handsome, round-headed tree, producing abundantly very large nuts, that find a ready market at good prices—$25 having been realized at one fruiting from the nuts of a single tree.
