The House of Fraser store in Plymouth is to benefit from a pool of almost £2 million (£1,994,638) awarded to Plymouth as a part of a national high street project overseen by Historic England. Together with the nearby Pearl Assurance building and the Civic Square between the Guildhall and the Civic Centre, undergoing a revitalision by Urban Splash. 68 ‘high streets’ across England has been singled out for a £95 million government funded High Streets Heritage Action Zone programme.
