A beautiful painted stork with its catch of the day. Bhiwan, India: STUNNING images show a painted stork holding on tightly to its prized catch - a huge black of the images shows the painted stork standing happily while beginning its feast of the big photographer Sadananda Koppalkar (43) observed that the stork waited and prepared for a good five minutes before swallowing the whole painted stork is a large wader in the stork family. Their distinctive pink tertian feathers of the adults give them their name. They forage in flocks in shallow waters along rivers or lakes. They immerse their half open beaks in water and sweep them from side to side and snap up their prey of small fish that are sensed by touch. Sadananda captured these images at Bhigwan, near Pune, India using a Nikon D500, Lens 500mm f/4 from just 15 feet the search for a great spotted eagle, we observed this painted stork suddenly hunting down the fish,? said Sadananda."Quickly we sailed through and approached this bird which was busy feasting on its prized catch."It took about five min to prepare the prey and swallow it. ?It was a breathtaking moment to witness this at Bhigwan, as this is not a regular sighting felt lucky to witness this moment in the wild and be at that mediadrumimages/Sadananda Koppalkar
