Volcanic rock called tuffite


Volcanic rock called tuffite from Lanzarote, Canary Islands. Volcanic ash and fragments of rock from pyroclastic explosion have form sediment on the sea bottom. This sediment has then slowly metamorphosed into a volcanic rock called tuffite. This tuffite rock sample includes also some visible marine fossils.
