In the tciitaiie base and nearly the lower half of the tentacle dorsum similar .sclerites are found arranged longitudinally in a row generally 5-8 sclerites broad. The sclerites decrease graduallv in length from the tentacle base, where the largest .sclerites of the zooid are usually found, until they become about mm in length at the outer half of the tentacles.
