A circa 1930's photographic postcard of visitors sitting in the Mayflower ship photo booth at Coney Island entertainment area situated on a peninsula in south-western Brooklyn, New York City, USA. Thousands of visitors to the entertainment complex paid to have their photograph taken in the same place each year to commemorate the Mayflower's cultural icon symbolism, particularly those who arrived as new settlers themselves to the "promised land". The area's name is thought to have originated from the Dutch 'Conyne Eylandt' meaning the island of rabbits.
