DcVall erected a small machine shop, adding thereafter a saw andgrist mill, which is still running. Graham put up in 1S7-, and is now operating, a steam flouring mill. In 1859, \\. W. Scutt opened a carriage and wagon manufactory onWalnut Street, which was burned in 1862. He began again in 1866, andcontinued till 1875, when it was again destroyed by fire. In 1875, heopened another shop on Main Street, where he now (1881) carries onbusiness. Jones & Dyrle commenced operating a carriage andwagon manu-factopj in 1877, and were afterwards succeeded by Dyrle & Ward, whonow continue the business. In 1877, W. E.
