An art deco train station, operated by govt owned Royal Railway, serves as a transportation hub in the city center of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

A group of European and US investors plan to spend $5 million to renovate Phnom Penh’s historic art deco Royal Railway Station yet again and turn it into a modern entertainment center and hangout spot. The first important meeting of the Khmer Rouge leadership including Pol Pot, was held at this railway station in April 1975, following the fall of Phnom Penh at which the decision to evacuate the cities was taken.
