Police have stopped a procession by lawyers support. Tension spread in the court area as the procession led by BNP Chairperson’s Advisor and Bangladesh Bar Council Vice Chairman Khandkar Mahbub Hossain was brought out from the Supreme Court Bar Association building around 11am on Sunday. Police broke up the march by using water cannon at the main gate of the Supreme Court. Former army chief Mahbubur Rahman, former home minister Altaf Hossain Chowdhury and former minister Osman Faruque were in the procession with more than 300 people. A group of youths led by former Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader Shahidul Islam were also seen in the procession.
