A CROCHETED TAM sports hats and tarns, and there are alsopretty browns and yellows. One has tobe careful, however, in selecting browntones because some of the medium andwarm shades do frightful things to gray-ing hair and have a cruel way of snuffingthe light and color out of many tints ofthe hair. The very dark brown that isalmost black is a great favorite. Withthe neutral gray browns on the taupe andbiege shades the case is different. Herethe hair is spared at the expense of thecomplexion. If ones skin will stand theneutral brown tone, well and good; but adark brim makes a neutral hat more be-coming to any woman.
