The Palmer House, a historic hotel in Chicago. The hotel, now a Hilton hotel property, has had three versions. The original was built in 1871 and lasted only 13 days, being destroyed in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. The second version was built in 1875. Today's Palmer House dates from a rebuild that was completed in 1923 to 1925. The large hotel in Chicago's famous Loop has nearly 2,000 rooms.
