Apart from rosacea, roseivena can be separated from all other species in the radiata-gvonp on characters of the female genitalia, the modified form of the papilla analis and presence of terminal spines. In beatrix, epimethea and rubristria the papilla anali are simple in form; flavistrigata and radiata both have modified papilla anali but terminal spines are absent. M. roseivena is distinguishable from rosacea on the colour difference of the hind wing upper surface: white, either im- maculate or lightly suffused with reddish brown in roseivena, reddish golden brownish orange in \\ \.
