The flint-flakes taken from the cave-earth of the vestibule 6and the fissure g (fig. 1, p. 335) are beautifully patinated. Somehave only a central ridge ; others have two, three, or even fourridges. Many are rounded at one end, some at both ends; othersare pointed, but not by secondary working. The flakesmust, many of them, have been more than 4 inches long.
