At the W. end of the Church an ancient and historic ale-house has recently been transformed by Mr. Wilkinson Moore, architect, intoa dwelling-house, appropriately named St. Marys Entry. Passing this onour left (see illustration on page 51, which represents an official processionof the Vice-Ciiancellor with the Bedels) we find ourselves in Radcliffe Square a place occupied entirely by academic1903.] E. Onthe E. side the buildings of All Souls (19) group themselves in})icturesque combinations. On the W. extends the E. facade ofBrasenose College (20); on the N. is the Bodleian Library (6);on the S. is the University Church (22) we have just left. Theeffect of its fine tower and spire seen from this square by moon-light, or lit up by the evening sun against a clear sky, is indescrib-ably impressive. The imposing dome-roofed structure in thecentre, is known as the 21. RadclifTe Camera {Camera Bodleiana), now used asa Reading-Room in connection with the Bodleian Library (6),which has been already described. It is open to visitors onpayment of yi. each, from 10 till 10 daily, with the exception ofcertain days and hours during which the Bodleian is customarilyclosed. It was built in 17
