NEWPORT, (May 30, 2013) Chief Hospital Corpsman Tom Smalls, independent duty corpsman for Naval War College (NWC), and Senior Chief Sonar Technician (Surface) Ben Pierson, command senior chief for NWC, have their blood drawn from phlebotomists from the Rhode Island Blood Center during a blood drive at NWC in Newport, The blood drive served as an opportunity for students, staff and faculty of NWC to support their Rhode Island community and donate to the Rhode Island Blood Center, which is the sole supplier of blood products to hospitals in Rhode Island.
