PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 3, 2017) Gunner's Mate 2nd Class Giacomo Voorhees observes as Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Clinton Harris conducts maintenance on a MK-38 25mm machine gun on the bridge wing of Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47). Rushmore is underway off the coast of Southern California participating in a series of qualifications and certifications as part of the basic phase of training in preparation for future operations and deployments.
