Baseball fans use the Roberto Clemente Bridge to cross the Allegheny River providing access from downtown to PNC Park, home of Major League Baseball's Pittsburgh Pirates. The span, also known as the Sixth Street Bridge, is closed to vehicle traffic on baseball game days to allow extensive pedestrian traffic. The bridge is named for famed Pittsburgh Pirate Hall-of-Famer Roberto Clemente. The bridge was built in 1928 and is 995-feet long.
