Souvenir patriotic naval apron sent by plumber and ship fitter, first class Frank C. Mitchell from the naval training station in Great Lakes, Illinois to his sweetheart Edna Kessler in St. Louis during World War I. The apron is made from parts of a seaman ?s uniform. The apron is cut from a dress neckerchief, the waistband and ties are from a hatband, and the pocket is made from a 1st class plumber and ship fitter's badge.
