Poughkeepsie Red—Claimed to be a cross between Delaware and lona. In a general way, both in vine and fruit, it reserii- ble's the Delaware, but the clusters are larger, and it is be- lieved to be an improvement on that grand old sort, not merely in ^igor of vine but also in qual- ity of fruit; and like the Dela- ware it ripens early. alem (Rogers' Xo. 53)—A strong, vigorous vine; hybrid between a native and Black Hamburgh; berries large, Catawba color; thin skin, free from hard pulp ; very sweet and sprightly ; ripens first of September. •.
