The odontoma was ofcomposite structure, the central part being made up of what may havebeen the third molar, about which were arranged concentric layers ofcementum, and probably some compact bony structures. For the report of this case I am indebted to Dr. Don M. Graham, olDetroit, Mich. 230 DENTAL RADIOGRAPHY 45. to Observe Hnomalous Conditions $ucb as tbe fusion of tbe Koots of two teetb for example. Case: Child about twelve. The crowns of two ofTig. 26S. the lower incisors seemed fused together. To ac- complish regulation of the teeth it became expedientin the opinion of the operator handling the case to extract one of the. Fig. 265. Shows that the two lower incisors are not fused together. incisors. The choice of the tooth to extract fell to one of the two whichseemed fused together. The question arose: Are the roots of the teethfused also? A radiograph (Fig. 265) shows they are not. It showsfurther that the crowns are not fused either, though, let me admit, Ishared in the mistake of the man who referred the case thinking theywere; and failed, as he had, in an attempt to pass a ligature betweenthem. It was not until I had the radiograph before me, showing me thatI was not attempting the impossible, that I succeeded in getting a silkligature between the teeth. One of the teeth was slightly malformed;they were almost mortised together in consequence, and in contact fromthe incisal edge to beneath the gum margin. Second and third molars are sometimes fused together. I recall hav-ing extracted the upper second and third molars in an effort to removethe third, the roots
