The Canadian Brooding Soldier at Vancouver Corner at St Juliaan on the Belgium Salient commemorating Canadians lost during 2nd & 3rd Battle of Ypres


The memorial commemorates the 18,000 Canadians who withstood the first gas attack in April 1915 with 2,000 killed and many injured, The surrounding trees are trimmed to represent artillery shells.
