Cypriot businessman Asil Nadir
Cypriot businessman Asil Nadir arrives to the Old Bailey court in London 15 August 2012. Nadir faces charges brought by the Serious Fraud Office over an alleged £34m fraud at his firm Polly Peck. Nadir, who fled to Cyprus in 1993 after the charges were first brought by the SFO, was ordered to return to the UK at a High Court hearing on July 30, 2010. Trial began January 23; jury retired to consider verdict, August 10. .
