Let us do all this, andGod will bless us (as worthy of his continued protection)with another brilliant galaxy of mighty spirits, to guardus against those, within and without our borders, whowould effect our countrys ruin. Three noble oaks ai-e felld at last, That stood erect so many years,Neath summer skies, and winters blast, Falling amid their countrys tears ! Jackson ! Calhoun ! Clay ! touching sounds— That thrill the soul like muffled drum !Names Tvont to cheer, mid fortunes frowns, Like the full moon or mid-day sun. Who fought and spoke in thrilling strain, For liberty and all her train ;Who all were true, from youth to age, As any of historic page. Farewell, fathers ! cold in the ground ! Who loved and served thy race so well;Thy sons still live, to guard thy mound, And thy great deeds their children tell. On motion, the Board then adjourned. D. T. VALENTINE,
