Rosea Nana Variegata—One of the most con- spicuous shrubs; leaves beautifully margined creamy white: flowers pink. A dwarf grower, and admirably adapted to small lawns or gar- dens. Lonerii— A variety with deep crimson flower very free flowering. Desboisi.—A beautiful variety with deep ro-se- colored flowers, resembling Rosea, but flow- ers much darker. One of the darkest andbest. with deep, rose-colored flowers. XAXTHOCEEAS. Sorbifolia c—A beautiful small tree, or large shrub, with foliage resembling the Mt. Ash. numerous long racemes of almost white flowers remind one of the Wistaria. The HARDY ORNAMENTAL CLIMBING VINES. AMPELiOPSlS. Veitchii (Boston Ivy).—A beautiful, hardy climbing plant, of Japanese origin. This is one of the finest climbers we have for covering walls, as it clings firmly to the smoothest surface, covering it smoothly with overlapping leaves, which form a perfect mass of foliage. The color is a fresh deep green in summer, changing to the brightest shade of crimson and yel- low in autumn. It is quite hardy and becomes more popular every year. Virginia Creeper (Quinquefolia)—A native vine of rapid growth, with large luxuriant foliage, which, in the autumn, assumes the most gorgeous and magnificent coloring. The blossoms, which are inconspicuous, are succeeded by handsome dark blue berries. Englemanii.—A desirable variety with clinging tendrils, by which it will climb
