Fossil walnuts. These fossil specimens of the seeds (walnuts) of the Juglans ventricosa tree, were found in Weisweiter near Duren, in the Rhineland, Germany. They date from the Oligocene (34 million to 23 million years ago) and now form part of a collection held at the Natural History Museum, London, UK.
