ATLANTIC’s Scottish professional skipper, Charlie Barr is at the helm, while the owner, Wilson Marshall, and navigator and tactician Frederick Maxfield Hoyt pose for the camera. She won the race and established a race record of 12 days, 4 hours, 1 minute and 19 second that stood for 75 years until broken in1980 by Eric Tabarly sailing the 60ft French trimaran PAUL RICARD. However Atlantic's monohull record stood for nearly 100 years until was broken in 1997 by the 80ft yacht NICORETTE which completed the crossing in 11 days 13 hours 22 minutes.
