1990: The twin towers of the World Trade Center and St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which began services at 155 Cedar Street in 1922. All three buildings were among those destroyed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York City in 2001. The church, rebuilt at a reported cost of $85 million, was reopened in 2022 and is now also a national shrine.
