After dark, in the glare of headlights, on the outskirts of the ancient walled city of Harar the Hyena Man of Harar (Mulugeta Wolde Mariam) feeds wild hyenas. He calls to the animals to come, as they know that this nightly ritual will take place they readily arrive. He throws them thrown strips of raw meat, he also feeds them with meat hanging out of his mouth, which they grab without fuss. Brave tourists can also fed the hyenas, apparently no tourist has ever been harmed.
