Silver dirham of Harun al-Rashid fifth Abbasid Caliph. Madinat al-Salam (The City of Peace, Baghdad) mint. The fictional The Book of One Thousand and One Nights is set in Harun's magnificent court and some of its stories involve Harun himself. This coin is from my own collection.
