Llanbabo C12th church dedicated to semi-legendary warrior St Pabo reputed to have founded a monastery here in the C5th. The circular churchyard & holy well (now under the raised roadway) suggest an authentic Early Christian foundation. Pabo Post Prydain (the Prop or Pillar of Britain) is part of the the stories of Cunedda & the Votadini moving south into NW Wales to drive out Irish settlers in late Roman times.
