Fore wing with slight oblique dark antemedial line not reaching costa ; two median lines which cross above vein 1, the inner from below costa, the outer from a large fuscous patch beyond the cell between veins 3 and 7, and emitting a wedge-shaped mark towards tornus; an indistinct dentate subterminal line. Hind wing crimson, the cilia white. Hah. Surinam. ]o. 40 millim. This species is unknown to me. Genus ANTAXIA, nov. Type, A. p?/rgion. Proboscis fully developed ; palpi upturned to vertex of head, thickly scaled, and the 3rd joint minute; tibiae with the spurs moderate; head, thorax, and abdomen clothed with rough hair. Fore wing with vein 3 from well before angle of cell; 4, 5 from angle ; 7, 8, 9, 10 stalked; 11 from cell.
