MODEL RELEASED. Surgery preparation. Anaesthetist preparing a patient for surgery in the pre-op room of an operating theatre. The patient has been given an anaesthetic to send him to sleep for the duration of the operation. The drug is administered through a face mask. The patient's vital signs (such as pulse, blood pressure, blood oxygen and carbon dioxide levels) will be continuously monitored during the operation through a sensor placed on the patient's index finger. The information collected is relayed to a monitor (upper left) to be seen by the anaesthetist.
