All-American Canal and US-Mexico Border Fence


Calexico, California - The All-American Canal, which brings water from the Colorado River to irrigate the Imperial Valley. It is called the All-American Canal because it replaced the Alamo Canal which ran through Mexico. Here the canal runs only a few meters north of the international border fence. More than 500 people have drowed in the canal, many of them migrants from Mexico trying to illegally enter the United States.
