Unusual and unique geology with rock formation known as Oni-no-Sentakuita created by crashing waves surrounding Aoshima Island

Aoshima Island is surrounded by wavelike rocks, believed to be (only) 15 to 30 million years old, known as "Oni-no-Sentakuita", or The Devil's Wash-board. This formation was declared a "Precious National Monument" in 1934, long before such appellations became fashionable. It`s a rock formation, created by the crashing waves, surrounding Aoshima Island (Kyushu, Japan).
