Hargus attended the schoolsof his native town in Nebraska, and later attendedthe State University at Lincoln. Nebraska, for oneyear. When he left school he took up railroadwork, being employed in the Burlington offices forabout two years, after which he took up work as atraveling salesman for the Racine Saddlery ttiat time he came to Idaho on a brief visit.
