, Schoenenbourg, Alsace, France - (Built 1932-35) The artillery fortification of Schoenenbourg (gros ouvrage de Schoenenbourg) in Alsace is the easternmost part of the Maginot Line, a gigantic defensive line from the North Sea to the Mediterranean Sea with 58 major works.
